Akshardham is a Hindu Temple situated in Gandhinagar city of Indian state Gujarat. The monumental temple is completely made up of yellow sandstone standing 108 ft high. The sheer pattern of vastu shastra that the architecture follows is pretty noticeable. A massive 7 ft high gold plated idol of Lord Swaminarayana weighing 1.2 tonne is placed in the shrine. People throng to the temple to take blessings of Lord Swaminarayana to whom the temple is devoted. Another interesting thing to see here is Sat-chit-anand sound and light show depicting major incidents of Hindu mythology. It is a must visit to witness the aspects of Hindu culture and religion.

Be prepared for the pick up by our chauffeur in an air-conditioned car from your hotel in Ahmedabad. We will head towards the grandeur Akshardham Temple (Closed on Monday) situated in the capital city of Gujarat, Gandhinagar. On reaching, the entry tickets will be provided to you by us and the excursion of serene Akshardham temple will begin. The foundation of the temple was laid in the year 1992 and is dedicated to Lord Swaminarayana.
The architecture of the temple is very attractive embellished with pillars, domes, balconies and sculpted figures. The fine stonework on the walls and pillars will certainly catch your fancy. The temple’s beauty is redefined with a modernistic touch boasting lots of peripheral stuff for entertainment like stalls, joy rides, fountains. The security arrangements and conduct by the management is orderly which also gets you rid of waiting in the long queues.
Later you will be taken to see the temple’s special sound and light show by the name of Sat-Chit-Anand. It is an open amphitheatre with latest technology light and sound system. You will sense the vibrations and clear sound giving you realistic feel of the presentation. The 45 minute show is enjoyable as well as informative. It is an entertaining way of giving the glimpse of Indian mythology to the audience.
We will conclude our day with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant and then dropping you back to the hotel safely.
