St. George Fort, also known as White Town, constructed by the British in the year 1644. Later, the East India company served the fort for the trade and economic activities. At present, the St. George Fort is divided into few structured sections, namely, St. Mary’s Church, The Fort Museum, Clive House, Flag Post and Wellesley House.
St. Mary’s Church remarkable as the oldest British constructed building in India and also the oldest Anglican church in India, established in the year 1680.
