Popular for being one of the largest National Parks in India, this enormous area is divided into six Safari Zones with some distinct features that will make your Corbett Jeep Safari tour one of the most memorable experiences. Following are the six zones that are a part of the Jim Corbett Safari Package:
Dhikala Zone- Head approximately 50 kilometers inside the Corbett National Park and you will reach the largest Safari zone i.e. Dhikala. This is the only zone which offers Canter Safari in Jim Corbett. This place provides the most amazing wildlife watching experience as you can see a range of wild animals here like elephants, tigers, chitals, and beautiful grassland birds. The area is open for visitors between November and June.
Durga Devi Zone- This zone is a birdwatcher's paradise as it is home to a number of exotic birds like Black Chinned Yuhina, Crested Laughing Thrush, Maroon Orile, among many others. Besides its bountiful wildlife, this place is also one of the most picturesque zones of Corbett.
Bijrani Zone- A famous shooting destination of the British era, the Bijrani Zone offers one of the best Jim Corbett Jeep Safari experiences. Here, you can come face to face with animals like tigers, sambar, black bear, etc. but another interesting aspect of this zone is its Sal trees and gorgeous grasslands.
Jhirna Zone- This zone also features all the major animals that are part of other zones like tigers, elephants, nilgai, etc. but the place is famous for its forest rest-house where tigers can be spotted very closely during the night.
Sonanadi Zone- Another rewarding component of your Jim Corbett safari booking is the Sonanadi Zone which houses over 500 different types of wild animals like sambars, reptiles, leopards, etc.
Sitabani Buffer Zone- It is not under the Corbett Tiger Reserve but can be visited to spot wild animals in their natural habitat when a permit to visit Corbett is unavailable. Its Shiva Temple is also a famous tourist attraction.
