Amritsar - Amritsar Overview

A spiritual abode to the glorious Golden Temple, the Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar is located in the North-Western part of India. Founded by the 4th Sikh Guru - Sri Ram Dass Ji the Golden Temple witnesses 1 Lakh visitors daily from different religions, and cultural background. It is the most preferred one, on the Amritsar sightseeing list known for its striking feature, the dome which is made of pure gold. The temple is positioned amidst a pond and the inside of the temple contains the holy scripture of the Sikh Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

One of the largest cities of the Punjab states, Amritsar is the chief pilgrimage center of the Sikh Religion living in India and abroad.
